Our Impact
How does Halifax Urban Ministries use donations?
94 cents of every dollar donated to Halifax Urban Ministries goes directly to services for people in need in Volusia and Flagler counties. In 2025, your generosity provided food, shelter, and a path to self-sustaining stability for thousands of your neighbors. Here’s what your donations accomplished.

Preventing Homelessness
The best way to fight homelessness is to stop it before it starts. In 2025, our prevention programs kept hundreds of families in their homes:
Feed-a-Family distributed 30,256 bags of groceries — 484 tons of food — so families could redirect grocery money toward rent and utilities.
Food Brings Hope added another 1,200 bags for children and families.
Financial Assistance program helped 261 households at risk of homelessness, paying $352,806 in rental assistance for families facing eviction and $22,136 in utility payments to keep the lights on.
Sheltering Families, Veterans, and Youth
Hope Place Family Shelter supported 124 families with children, providing 25,289 nights of safety — and 71% of those families secured permanent housing.
Hope Place Unaccompanied Youth served 27 young people, with 70% moving on to permanent housing.
Barracks of Hope served 71 veterans, with 86% of those completing the program transitioning to permanent homes. On dangerous cold nights below 40°, our
Cold Weather Shelter protected more than 112 individuals.
Meeting Daily Needs
Through the Bridge of Hope, we served over 336,825 hot meals to food-insecure neighbors — often the only quality nutrition our guests receive. We also distributed more than 10,251 essential items including hygiene packs, clothing, shoes, furniture, baby formula, and diapers, and gave out over 1,245 bus passes so people could reach jobs, appointments, and services.
Rebuilding Stability
Pathways to Housing housed and case-managed over 167 new households experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk — helping them find affordable housing, negotiate leases, and cover move-in costs. Behind every one of these outcomes are our case managers, who provided over 7,489 hours of one-on-one support in 2025.
