Transitional Housing for Homeless Veterans

Barracks of Hope provides transitional housing to male and female veterans in Volusia County who have struggled with homelessness, addiction, or mental health challenges. Every veteran receives a private room, three meals a day, mental health counseling, and one-on-one case management — free of charge.

Who better to serve than those who served us?

Located on Derbyshire Road in Daytona Beach, Barracks of Hope offers 20+ private rooms, community space, and a dedicated staff focused on one goal: helping every veteran move from crisis to a permanent home. In 2025, we served 71 veterans — and 86% of those who completed the program transitioned into permanent housing.

What does the program include?
Every resident of Barracks of Hope receives a private single-occupancy room, three meals every day, mental health and substance abuse support including on-site AA/NA meetings and counseling referrals, dedicated case management to work through benefits, employment, and housing goals, and help finding permanent housing so the next move is the last one.

Who is eligible?

Barracks of Hope serves homeless veterans — men and women — in the Volusia County area and the surrounding VA Orlando region. To apply, you’ll need current identification, proof of veteran status (such as a DD-214), proof of homelessness, and documentation of any income, if applicable. Don’t have all your documents? Apply anyway — our case managers can help you obtain them.

Barracks of Hope is free for every veteran we serve because of donors like you.
